Thought Leader, Dale Doerr

Last month, Dale Doerr left his position as Wastewater Superintendent in Sheboygan, WI to join Harvest Power in Orlando, I learned through the Sheboygan Press. Considering all the waste produced at theme parks, he’ll be busy.

Dale had the foresight to utilize excess capacity in anaerobic digesters to convert cheese whey from local industries into energy with microturbines. Dale led the way in helping wastewater treatment plants become resource recovery centers and gained attention and respect by sharing his experience through the Water Environment Federation (WEF) and the Water Environment Research Foundation. I can’t help but wonder who will step in to take Dale’s place among industry thought leaders.
